I have a 1996 Chrysler T&C I had the starter replaced then started having problems w/gas gauge reading wrong?

I had the starter replaced then started having problems w/gas gauge reading wrong.The gauge has been reading wrong fluctuating up and down more so car needing gas and it reads full tank or half of a tank.Now its hard to start and after a week of hard to start it now makes a grinding sound like metal on metal sound when i turn the key.After i get it started i have had no issues driving it.The van has 118,000miles
