Can I obtain possesion of this car through my divorce?

Not likely to be given it, OR if you have the Judge get to agree to give it to you then you will be losing the value of the car in other ways. In other words the Judge isn't going to put the value of the car aside. He isn't going to say well you deserve it more so forget that it has a cash value. That's not the way the real world works. The Judge also won't care that you couldn't drive it, that you have kids could be a factor in giving it to you(once again the value will be considered) but you could go buy a used car instead as far as the Courts care.
